The use of Colorado Department of Transportation standards are required to ensure that all transportation projects are clear, concise, correct, complete and in compliance with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Signing & Pavement Markings
All signs designed and placed on Colorado State highways must conform to the requirements as outlined in the CDOT Sign Design manual. Colorado Supplement to the MUTCD's Standard Highway Signs, Colorado Special signing cases, and guide sign examples are available for download.
Traffic Documents & Publications
The design of state highways also rely on traffic guidelines, manuals, and brochures as supplement for the additional elements that may not be covered through standard drawings.
