Highway Safety Improvement Program
The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is a federal aid program that funds safety improvement projects that can achieve a significant reduction in traffic fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads.
FASTER Safety Mitigation Program
On March 2, 2009, Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter signed SB09-108 into law. The Funding Advancement for Surface Transportation and Economic Recover (FASTER) provides funds to address safety issues on Colorado roadways. The FASTER Safety Mitigation (FSM) program addresses safety issues on state maintained highways.
Safety Analysis Information
The efficient and responsible investment of resources in addressing safety problems is a difficult task. When making decisions effecting road safety, it is critical to understand that the expenditure of limited available funding will have the biggest impact in places where more crash could be prevented.
Crash Data
Crash data is generated by law enforcement officers and submitted to the Department of Revenue (DOR). CDOT processes, uniforms, and "cleanses" crash data records received from DOR so that the data can be utilized for engineering analysis.
405C Traffic Records Program
Formerly known as the 408 program, the 405C Traffic Records Program works to improve State Traffic Records and information systems.
Statewide Traffic Records Advisory Committee
The Colorado Statewide Traffic Advisory Committee (STRAC) is an advisory group representing Colorado agencies and organizations who use Traffic Records associated with motor vehicle traffic and safety.
