The Cannabis Conversation Heads to Red Rocks
On Friday, Jan. 26, members of the CDOT team headed out to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in partnership with Lightshade Dispensaries for Icelantic’s Winter on the Rocks event. With the impending launch of The Cannabis Conversation, CDOT traveled to Red Rocks to reach an audience of concertgoers that totaled more than 10,000 attendees. The goal of the campaign is to initiate a conversation with Coloradans about drugged driving, and as visitors milled through the venue and passed by the CDOT table, they were asked to share their thoughts, opinions and experiences with driving while under the influence of marijuana. A photo and video team was on-site to capture all the action and interview Coloradans who were excited to share their experiences and open up about this issue.
In addition to direct conversations, the CDOT team also set up a series of interactive surveys which allowed visitors to share their opinions in response to prompts such as "People who drive high are putting themselves in danger," and "Police can detect impairment from marijuana." Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to jot down their thoughts and experiences with driving high on a sticky note to create a wall of dialogue about drugged driving.
