Two Coloradans Recognized with 2018 Traffic Safety Award
Each year, the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility recognizes a select few people across the nation for their leadership in the fight against impaired driving. This year, two individuals from Colorado have been selected to receive the 2018 Kevin E. Quinlan Award for Excellence in Traffic Safety.
The first, Jen Knudsen—a traffic safety resource prosecutor at the Colorado District Attorneys' Council—was recognized for her leadership and efforts in Colorado as the traffic safety resource prosecutor, and as a resource to the traffic safety community as a whole.
The second winner, Ed Wood—founder of DUID Victim Voices—was honored for his tireless advocacy on behalf of victims.
This award honors the legacy of Kevin E. Quinlan. Over his 21-year tenure at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Kevin served as the Alcohol and Drug Program coordinator, chief of the Safety Division, and chief of the Safety Advocacy Division. He was a traffic safety pioneer and a mentor to countless traffic safety advocates.
