Prescription for Safety—New Resource for Child Passenger Safety Technicians
In an effort to ensure all children are properly secured in an approved and appropriate restraint system in vehicles, CDOT and the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) recently developed a Technician Prescription Card that will be distributed to certified child passenger safety technicians at inspection stations throughout the state.
The cards provide car seat, booster seat and seat belt recommendations based on a child’s height, weight and age, along with general installation tips and information. There are currently more than 1,000 car seat technicians and 38 car seat instructors across Colorado who help parents ensure their car seats are properly installed.
