Seat Belt Safety: Mile High Flea Market Event
CDOT got creative by offering free bumper car rides to flea market attendees. Since most people accept the need to wear a seat belt in bumper cars, the idea was to inspire them to apply the same thinking to their own vehicles and sign a seat belt pledge. On Aug. 6, CDOT and the Mile High Flea Market partnered to increase public awareness of the importance of proper occupant protection by staging a variety of fun seat belt-related activities accompanied with a pledge to buckle up.
Hundreds of pledges were secured by the Hispanidad street team, a wrecked vehicle offered plenty of food-for-thought and Señorita Cinturón (Miss Seatbelt) provided lots of terrific photo opportunities with attendees. ¡Abróchate
