On Feb. 5, the LEL Team began soliciting Click It Or Ticket applications for the FY25 grant year. The Click It or Ticket campaign is a nationwide initiative aimed at increasing seat belt usage through a combination of education and enforcement. It was launched in 1993 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and has since become a highly recognized and effective campaign. The campaign focuses on safety education, strong laws and law enforcement support to save lives. It combines on-street enforcement with a national media buy campaign that airs across TV, radio, internet and social media to convey the message that officers are out enforcing seat belt laws. There are three campaigns in Colorado which run April 7 to 13, May 12 to June 1, and July 21 to Aug. 1. Applications closed on Feb. 28.
