Recording - Driver Response to Non-Traditional Safety Messages
Traffic Safety Pulse News
The development and use of non-traditional safety messages are distinctly different than messages previously displayed on highway signs. These messages attempt to provoke an emotional response and may reference themes like popular culture, sports, or use rhymes to increase their effectiveness. Join the AASHTO Committee on Transportation Communications for its monthly webinar series as Tripp Shealy, an Associate Professor in the Charles E. Via, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech, reviews the study on measuring the effectiveness of these non-traditional safety messages. Find the recording here.
