Pásatela bien, pero no te pases — CDOT and Suave Fest partner to increase awareness of impaired driving
Traffic Safety Pulse News
On Saturday, September 18th, Suave Fest launched as the first craft beer festival in the country celebrating Latino craft breweries, brewers, beers community, and culture. CDOT also joined the festival as a sponsor to show some love to designated sober drivers attending the event in the form of free non-alcoholic beverages, while also reminding attendees to plan ahead and not drive home after drinking.
The festival (located at 2060 West Colfax Avenue) offered a wide variety of craft beers from several Latino-owned craft breweries from around Colorado, along with Latin American and Caribbean cuisine from Colorado restaurants and vendors.
According to José Beteta, CEO of Raíces Brewing Company, “Suave Fest believes in indulging in community and cultural celebrations to strengthen our identities. When doing so in festivities that include alcoholic beverages, we strongly believe in being responsible and creating a plan on how to get home safely, whether that’s having someone pick you up, having a designated driver, using rideshare options or public transportation. We want all of our guests, volunteers, staff, artists and vendors to enjoy their time and get home to familia unscathed.”
And CDOT reminds you to designate before you celebrate — a sober designated driver is the safest way to get home after drinking.
