US 85 (Santa Fe Drive) Resurfacing: I-25 to Florida Avenue
About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation in cooperation with prime contractor, Brannan Sand & Gravel Co, will be conducting a resurfacing project on US 85 (Santa Fe Drive) from I-25 to Florida Avenue within the City/County of Denver. Crews will be using a mill and overlay process to resurface the roadway.
Additional infrastructure upgrades will include:
- Americans with Disabilities Act and sidewalk improvements along northbound Santa Fe Drive
- Bridge deck repairs over the South Platte River on southbound Santa Fe Drive
- New pavement marking and signage in both directions
The project will take place from early May 2025 to mid-August 2025.

Work Schedule
- All construction activities will take place overnight
- General working hours will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning
- Crews will begin with milling and bridge deck repairs, followed by concrete and ADA ramp improvements.
- The project team will finish with asphalt overlays and final pavement marking and signage.
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Double and triple lane closures with at least one through-lane of travel in both directions
- There will be no travel impacts on I-25 as it relates to this project
- Drivers are encouraged to account for up to 10 minutes of extra travel time due to potential traffic congestion related to lane reductions
- Please slow down, leave plenty of distance between vehicles, and watch for crews and equipment on the roadway.
- Nighttime operations can pose additional safety concerns, so please drive with caution through the work zone.
