US 85 & Carson Boulevard Intersection Improvements
About the Project:
The Colorado Department of Transportation in cooperation with SEMA Construction will be performing intersection improvement operations at the US 85 and Carson Boulevard junction, north of Fountain. The scope of work will include roadway widening and pavement overlay for northbound lanes, adding raised medians to provide protected turn-lanes, installing new traffic signals, and performing final striping on the roadway.

Work Schedule:
- Work is expected to take place during both nighttime and daytime hours
- Daytime operations will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Nighttime operations will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning
- Weekend operations may take place as needed throughout the duration of the project
Traffic Impacts:
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Two lanes of traffic will remain open in either direction with shoulder closures and traffic realignments within the work zone
- Potential width restrictions of 10.5 feet may be in place during certain lane reconfigurations
- Speed reductions within the work zone
