US 6 New Castle Roundabout

About the Project

This project is located on US 6 and Castle Valley Road/Spur Road in Garfield County. Work will take place from Mile Point 107.03 and MP 107.35. The work consists of constructing a multilane roundabout at the intersection, a three-quarter movement intersection at the Castle Valley Boulevard and New Castle Plaza access, improvements to the RFTA park and ride/bus stop crossing, installing RRFBs, drainage, lighting, and utility improvements. This project is on CDOT’s 10-year plan.

Work Schedule

  • Work will last for approximately eight months
  • Working hours are 7 a.m.to 7 p.m. In order to accommodate commuter traffic, the project will perform roadway improvements between the hours of 8:30 a.m.to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday
  • Some weekend work is expected

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Lane closures in all four directions of US Highway 6 and Castle Valley Boulevard
  • Reduced speeds through the work zone
