This bridge repair project is located on US 50 just north of Las Animas at Mile Point 399.8. The project will consist of bridge deck asphalt removal and bridge bearing device repair followed by bridge deck resurfacing and striping.

This project will improve the structural soundness of this bridge increasing its lifespan and update the roadway surface.

Work Schedule

  • Crews are working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Work is expected to be complete spring 2026

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • 24/7 Traffic is diverted to a single lane in each direction with head-to-head traffic over the eastern bridge of US 50 from MP 399.28 to MP 401.69.
  • The speed limit is reduced to 40 mph in the work zone
  • Width restrictions are in place
  • Traffic fines are doubled in the work zone
  • Construction schedules could change depending on the weather
