US 287 Resurfacing: I-70 to 92nd Avenue

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation in collaboration with prime contractor Brannan Sand and Gravel will be performing a resurfacing project on US 287 (Federal Boulevard) between I-70 and 92nd Avenue. The work zone stretches between Adams and Denver counties. The project is anticipated to begin in March 2025 and end in November 2025.

Crews will operate on one section of US 287 at a time in the following three sections:

  • Section 1 is between US 36 and 92nd Avenue
  • Section 2 is between I-70 and I-76
  • Section 3 is between US 36 and I-76

The project's primary goal will be resurfacing both north and southbound lanes using a mill and overlay processes. Additional construction operations will include:

  • Improving concrete sidewalks and American with Disabilities Act ramps
  • Upgrading traffic signals
  • Rehabilitating the bridge deck over Clear Creek
  • Improving drainage
  • Performing permanent striping operations

Work Schedule

  • Daytime work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Intermittent nighttime operations will occur throughout the duration of construction between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Traffic shifts in north and southbound lanes through the duration of the project
  • One lane of through-traffic will remain open at all times with anticipated turn-lane, shoulder, single-lane and double-lane closures
  • Delays up to 10 minutes are anticipated
  • There may be speed reductions, please follow all signage throughout the project zone
  • Loads wider than 11 feet may be restricted at times through the work zone
