US 285/CO 9 Intersection Improvements & Bridge Replacement
About the Project:
The project consists of making intersection improvements on US Highway 285 at Colorado Highway 9 and replacing a bridge on US 285, in the town of Fairplay in Park County. Work includes roadway widening and reconstruction to accommodate additional through lanes and acceleration /deceleration lanes, installation of new traffic lights, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Ramp work in both Fairplay and Alma. Other work includes storm sewer and drainage improvements, sidewalk and curb and gutter replacement, and repairs to an existing pedestrian bridge.

Work Schedule:
- The project began in May 2023 with full completion anticipated by late 2024
- Project hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday with overnight and weekend work expected
Traffic Impacts:
- Lane closures will exist in both directions of US 285 and CO 9 during overnight hours Sunday to Thursday
- Flaggers will be present to manage alternating traffic flows, with delays up to 15 minutes expected
- Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the duration of the project
- Traffic shifts, narrowed lanes and reduced speeds will exist during the period of construction
- All construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
