US 24 Resurfacing from Divide to Woodland Park
About the Project
The project will improve approximately 12 miles of US 24 from Mile Point 269.4 (Florissant) to MP 281 (west of Woodland Park). Improvements will also take place on CO 67 in Woodland park from MP 76.9 (US 24/CO 67 intersection) to MP 77.5 (Red Feather Lane).
Work will include:
- Milling old asphalt
- Paving with new asphalt
- Guardrail replacement
- Curb and gutter improvements

Project Benefits
The new asphalt will:
- Add approximately 10 years of life to the highway
- Provide a smoother road surface
- Add durability by increasing the resistance of ruts and road damage
Other benefits of the project include:
- Installation of new guardrail that will be 31 inches high, designed to meet new safety standard requirements
- Higher railing will help veering vehicles remain on the road more effectively, making the highway safer for the traveling public
Work Schedule
- Daytime work hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to noon
- Occasional nighttime hours Sunday night through Friday morning from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Delays up to 15 minutes
- Single lane closures and one-lane, alternating traffic guided by a pilot car
- Speeds reduced in work zone
