US 24 East Resurfacing from Falcon to Peyton

About the Project:

Surface treatment work will take place along US Highway 24, between the city of Falcon and the city of Peyton, from Mile Point 318.5 to MP 332. Work will primarily consist of resurfacing, updating the guardrail, striping, minor signage replacement, removing the wooden rail at two structures, replacing them with bridge rail and guardrail, and adding centerline and edge line rumble strips. Work will be done in both the northbound and southbound lanes for a thirteen-mile stretch of US 24.

Work Schedule:

  • Work will last approximately 4 months
  • Work hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Garrett Road and Rio Lane and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Elbert Road and Smith Ranch Road
  • Overnight work is expected

Traffic Impacts:

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Vehicles will be reduced to a single-lane, alternating traffic intermittently in either direction, throughout the duration of the project
  • Lane closures, guided by flaggers and pilot cars, will have up to 15-minute delays
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph through the work zone
