Work this Week | Feb. 2 to Feb. 8
Lane closures for the week of Feb. 2:
- Monday through Thursday: WCR 32 temporary daytime closures under I-25.
- Monday through Saturday: Intermittent closures with flaggers on eastbound WCR 34 west of I-25.
- Monday through Saturday: Intermittent closures with flaggers on southbound I-25 on-ramp at WCR 34.
Approximately one mile of the southbound I-25 Express Lane, between mile points 251 and 250, from approximately Weld County Road 44 to Weld County Road 46, is closed through late 2027.
The speed limit on the project has been lowered to 65 mph. Please obey speed limit signs.
Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Weld County Road 32 under I-25 is scheduled to be temporarily closed to allow crews to install new bridge caissons near the roadway.
- Westbound WCR 32 traffic will take the East I-25 Frontage Road south to Mulligan
Street, turn east to County Road 9.5, turn south to Colorado Highway 66, turn west to Weld County Road 7 and turn north to WCR 32. - Eastbound WCR 32 traffic will take WCR 7 south to CO 66, turn east to WCR 9.5 and
turn north to WCR 32.
Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the eastbound lane of Weld County Road 34 west of I-25 will have brief intermittent closures, controlled by flaggers, to haul materials.
Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the southbound I-25 on-ramp at WCR 34 will have brief intermittent closures controlled by flaggers for dirt hauling operations.
Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 a.m. through Friday, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m., the East I-25 Frontage Road between WCR 32 and WCR 34 will be temporarily closed to allow crews to bore under the roadway to install the new irrigation pipeline.
Northbound traffic will take WCR 32 east to Colorado Boulevard, turn north to WCR 34,
and turn west to the East I-25 Frontage Road.
Southbound traffic will take WCR 34 east to Colorado Boulevard, turn south to WCR 32,
and turn west to the East I-25 Frontage Road.
Southbound I-25 traffic shifted to the northbound lanes between Colorado Highway 56 and Colorado Highway 66 into a head-to-head configuration and will be in place through 2025.
As of Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, the I-25 North Express Lanes, Berthoud to Fort Collins, hit a major milestone and is now substantially complete.
While most of the work in this section of I-25 is done, CDOT and the contractors will have various intermittent lane closures through spring 2024 to finish final project punch list tasks. The Express Lanes are now open for testing, but drivers should also prepare for intermittent closures of these lanes in 2024. Express Lane tolls are waived during the testing phase.

Drivers are encouraged to try the Express Lanes by entering through the dashed white lines. When using the lanes, drivers are reminded to follow these rules to ensure the safety of everyone on the road:
- Do not cross the solid white lines (tickets for violations start at $75 each).
- Enter and exit at the designated areas only, which are marked with a white dotted line.
- Obey posted speed limits. The Express Lanes cannot be used to pass slower moving vehicles.
Motorists should expect various overnight and lane closures, including in the Express Lanes, while the last of the construction wraps up and tolling equipment is installed. The Express Lanes are anticipated to begin tolling in 2024. Once tolling begins in 2024, motorists are encouraged to sign up for an ExpressToll account to save an average of 40% on tolls.
No major traffic impacts this week.
Segments 6, 7 and 8 have reached substantial completion and will have intermittent lane and ramp closures through spring.
