Work this Week | March 9 to March 15
Lane closures for the week of March 9:
- Sunday: I-25 full closure under WCR 34.
- Sunday: WCR 34 full closure over I-25.
- Sunday: E. I-25 Frontage Rd. full closure near I-25.
- Monday through Saturday: Intermittent closures with flaggers on eastbound WCR 34 west of I-25.
- Monday through Saturday: Alternating traffic with flaggers on WCR 32 under I-25.
Approximately one mile of the southbound I-25 Express Lane, between mile points 251 and 250, from approximately Weld County Road 44 to Weld County Road 46, is closed through late 2027.
The speed limit on the project has been lowered to 65 mph. Please obey speed limit signs.
Saturday, March 8, 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., there will be a northbound and southbound I-25 full closure under Weld County Road 34, with northbound and southbound I-25 traffic rerouted to the off- and on-ramps at WCR 34 for bridge girder installation. In addition, eastbound and westbound WCR 34 and the E. Frontage Road at I-25 will be closed Friday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Saturday, 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Northbound and southbound I-25 traffic will be rerouted using the off- and on-ramps at WCR 34 (mile point 245). No turning movements will be allowed on or off WCR 34 during this time.
- Eastbound WCR 34 traffic will turn south on County Road 7, turn east on Colorado Highway 66, and turn north on Colorado Boulevard to WCR 34.
- Westbound WCR 34 traffic will turn south on Colorado Boulevard, turn west on CO 66, and turn north on CR 7 to WCR 34.
- Southbound E. Frontage Road traffic will turn east on Weld County Road 36, turn south on Colorado Boulevard, and turn west on Weld County Road 32 to the E. Frontage Road.
- Northbound E. Frontage Road traffic will turn east on WCR 32, turn north on Colorado Boulevard, and turn west on WCR 36 to the E. Frontage Road.
- For I-25 access to WCR 34, traffic will be directed to the I-25 and CO 66 interchange and follow other routes to the east or west.
Southbound I-25 traffic shifted to the northbound lanes between Colorado Highway 56 and CO 66 into a head-to-head configuration and will be in place through 2025.
As of Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, the I-25 North Express Lanes, Berthoud to Fort Collins, hit a major milestone and is now substantially complete.
While most of the work in this section of I-25 is done, CDOT and the contractors will have various intermittent lane closures through spring 2024 to finish final project punch list tasks. The Express Lanes are now open for testing, but drivers should also prepare for intermittent closures of these lanes in 2024. Express Lane tolls are waived during the testing phase.

Drivers are encouraged to try the Express Lanes by entering through the dashed white lines. When using the lanes, drivers are reminded to follow these rules to ensure the safety of everyone on the road:
- Do not cross the solid white lines (tickets for violations start at $75 each).
- Enter and exit at the designated areas only, which are marked with a white dotted line.
- Obey posted speed limits. The Express Lanes cannot be used to pass slower moving vehicles.
Motorists should expect various overnight and lane closures, including in the Express Lanes, while the last of the construction wraps up and tolling equipment is installed. The Express Lanes are anticipated to begin tolling in 2024. Once tolling begins in 2024, motorists are encouraged to sign up for an ExpressToll account to save an average of 40% on tolls.
No major traffic impacts this week.
Segments 6, 7 and 8 have reached substantial completion and will have intermittent lane and ramp closures through spring.
