Project Costs

The costs to build Segment 5 range from $264 million to $368 million. The cost estimate used 2015 dollars and is for the construction of two general-purpose lanes and one tolled express lane in each direction. The actual project cost will vary depending on the value of property that will need to be acquired and the costs of materials and labor at the time the project goes to advertisement.

Project Schedule

The Final Environmental Impact Statement and the Record of Decision 1 (ROD1) for this segment were completed in 2011. The project team is currently preparing the ultimate design plans. This includes the design of three general-purpose lanes and one tolled express lane in each direction. After the major features, such as right of way,  for the ultimate design are identified, a near-term plan will be created to allow for the initial implementation of two general-purpose lanes and one tolled express lane in each direction. Design will continue to prepare for future funding opportunities and to support the phased implementation of the complete I-25 North Corridor.
