Collaborative Effort Process
A representative group of stakeholders from the Denver metropolitan area and the I-70 Corridor was identified to participate in a facilitated process to reach an agreement on a recommended preferred alternative to address the transportation problems in the I-70 Mountain Corridor between C-470 in Golden and Glenwood Springs. This group is known as the Collaborative Effort (CE). The decision-making process to identify a preferred alternative in a Consensus Recommendation, that would resolve the problems on I‑70 was based on analysis and consensus. As members of the CE, CDOT and FHWA participated in the consensus process, ensuring that the Consensus Recommendation met the purpose and need, state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
