These maps outline active construction projects along or near the I-70 Mountain Corridor between Golden and the Utah border. The active summer-fall 2024 construction projects from east to west are as follows:
East Side of the Eisenhower Tunnel Projects
Location: I-70 from Chief Hosa to Morrison
Schedule: July 2024 to Fall 2025
Traffic Impacts: Intermittent single and double-lane closures during the day and night
Webpage: Will be activated once project starts
Location: Clear Creek Canyon (US 6) from CO 119 to CO 58/CO 93
Schedule: 2024 to late 2026
Traffic Impacts: Daytime single lane closures and occasional overnight full canyon closures for construction of the Huntsman Gulch segment of the Peaks to Plains Trail

Location: I-70 from west of Evergreen to eastern Idaho Springs
Schedule: Summer 2023 to late 2028
Traffic Impacts: Overnight lane and ramp closures on I-70, intermittent traffic impacts on US 40, traffic shifts, narrowed lanes and shoulders, reduced speed limits. Clear Creek Greenway Trail closure between US 6 and Hidden Valley. Expect traffic holds for rock scaling and blasting after Labor Day.

Location: I-70 eastbound from just outside the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels to the Georgetown on-ramp with a half-mile stretch of I-70 eastbound at the US 40 Empire Junction
Schedule: August 2023 to Fall 2024
Traffic Impacts: Overnight single lane closures for guardrail and paving work
