Colonial Manor Demolition

In March and April, the Colonial Manor Motel was remediated and demolished. During the demolition, more than 670 tons of material - wood, metal and concrete - were recycled. In recognition of the Colonial Manor’s long history in Denver, the Project team has been working with local non-profits and museums to preserve the motel’s signs.

Habitat for Humanity

The Central 70 team volunteered for Habitat for Humanity on Feb. 9, 2018. Working on two separate homes in the Globeville-Swansea community, the team built a fence, touched up paint and installed a gate. It was truly a pleasure to volunteer with a group that makes such a positive impact on the community every day.

Neighborhood Training Center

The Neighborhood Training Center (NTC) opened in July 2017. The NTC brings together multiple construction training providers in a single location to deliver classroom and hands-on training in the construction crafts. CDOT's goal in opening the NTC is to connect local residents with more accessible job training and future career opportunities associated with the Central 70 Project and other nearby construction projects.
