Please be advised of the following traffic impacts, restrictions and planned work for next week for the I-70 Resurfacing from Chief Hosa to Colfax project in Jefferson County.

Overnight Traffic Impacts
Sunday, Oct. 6 to Thursday, Oct. 10 - Westbound I-70 - Morrison (Exit 259) west for two miles to MP 257 - overnight single/double lane closures
- Single lane closures switching to double left lane closures will be taken on westbound I-70 from the Morrison exit for about two miles to just east of the Lookout Mountain exit
- The closures will be in place nightly, Sunday to Thursday
- On Sunday, single lane closures will be in place at 6 p.m., switching to double lane closures at 8 p.m.
- Monday to Thursday, single lane closures will be taken at 7 p.m., switching to double lane closures at 9 p.m.
- All overnight closures will end by 6 a.m.
- During the overnight work and closures, traffic will be shifted into the open lane(s) and caution is advised
- Delays can be expected
- The closure limits for this weekly period are confined to Mile Point 259 (Morrison Exit 259) to MP 257
- Signs, message boards and construction devices will be present alerting motorists to the work zone, lane closures and other restrictions
- Please obey speed limits and traffic signs and exercise caution
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Work includes replacing concrete and rehabilitating the westbound I-70 bridge deck at Morrison. Other night work includes forming concrete barrier base, and excavating for storm drainage pipe installation.

Sunday, Oct. 6 to Thursday, Oct. 10 - Eastbound I-70 - East of Lookout Mountain (Exit 256) for about two miles to Morrison (Exit 259) - overnight single lane closures
- Single lane closures will be taken on eastbound I-70 for about two miles from east of Lookout Mountain to the Morrison exit
- The closures will be in place nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday
- During the overnight lane closures, traffic will be shifted and caution is advised
- Short delays can be expected
- The closure limits for this weekly period are confined to Mile Point 257 to MP 259
- Signs, message boards and construction devices will be present alerting motorists to the work zone, lane closures and other restrictions
- Please obey speed limits and traffic signs and exercise caution
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Work includes excavating for storm drainage pipe installation, and forming concrete barrier base.

Daytime Traffic Impacts
Monday, Oct. 7 to Friday, Oct. 11 - Both directions of I-70 - Genesee Park (Exit 254) to east of Lookout Mountain (Exit 256) - shoulder closures
- Daily shoulder closures will be taken in both directions of I-70, as needed from Genesee Park to east of Lookout Mountain
- The closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday
- The closure limits for this weekly period are confined to MP 254 to MP 257
- Signs, message boards and construction devices will be present to alert motorists to the work zone, closures and other restrictions
- Please obey speed limits and traffic signs and exercise caution
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Electrical work includes boring for conduit and forming foundations. Other work includes pouring concrete barrier.

General Travel Impacts, Schedule & Scope of Work
- The project began on Aug. 11, with anticipated completion by late 2025
- Work will be performed in two shifts: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, except on holidays
- Hours will be modified during the winter months
- The project will improve safety, travel time reliability and mobility along this 10-mile stretch of the I-70 mountain corridor
- Work includes milling and overlay for smoother driving conditions, replacing guardrail, repairing two bridge decks at the eastern end of the project, installing drainage improvements, and adding variable speed limit signs and message boards on eastbound I-70 from Genesee Park (Exit 254) to Colfax (Exit 262)
- Overnight lane closures with traffic shifts will be taken Sunday to Thursday, except on holidays
- Daytime shoulder closures will be in place
- Occasional weekend overnight lane closures will exist, as needed

I-70 Floyd Hill Project
- The I-70 Floyd Hill project, from west of Evergreen to eastern Idaho Springs, encompasses an eight mile section of the I-70 Mountain Corridor
- Ongoing impacts include overnight lane closures and shifts, traffic delays, and periodic ramp closures
- Weekday rock scaling and blasting operations will be taking place near Idaho Springs, with traffic holds and delays expected up to six times a day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday
- The project limits extend from Beaver Brook (Exit 248) to Idaho Springs (Exit 241)

Eastbound I-70 Mt. Vernon Emergency Escape Ramp Project
- This project consists of rebuilding the existing emergency escape ramp located along eastbound I-70 at Mile Post 257 just east of Genesee
- The project is nearing substantial completion
- Motorists can expect daytime and overnight lane and shoulder closures in both directions of I-70 within the project limits, and periodic ramp closures at Lookout Mountain during certain work activities
