Traffic Impacts - Feb. 9 to Feb. 15
Please be advised of the following traffic impacts, restrictions, and planned work for next week for the I-70 Resurfacing from Chief Hosa to Colfax project in Jefferson County.
Upcoming Holiday Schedule: There will be no scheduled traffic impacts on westbound and eastbound I-70 during overnight hours on Sunday, Feb. 16 and during daytime hours on Monday, Feb. 17 in observance of Presidents' Day.

Overnight Traffic Impacts
Sunday, Feb. 9 to Thursday, Feb. 13 - Westbound & Eastbound I-70 - Morrison (Exit 259) to Lookout Mountain (Exit 256) - overnight lane closures
- Overnight lane closures will be in place in both directions of I-70 from Sunday to Thursday, from the Morrison to Lookout Mountain exits
- During these overnight periods, motorists can expect single lane closures switching to double lane closures on westbound I-70, and single lane closures on eastbound I-70
- On Sunday, single lane closures on westbound I-70 will be in place from 6 p.m., switching to double lane closures at 8 p.m.
- Monday to Thursday, single lane closures on westbound I-70 will be taken at 7 p.m., switching to double lane closures at 9 p.m.
- Only single lane closures will exist on eastbound I-70 nightly, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- All overnight closures will end by 6 a.m.
- During the overnight work and closures, traffic will be shifted into the open lane(s) and caution is advised
- Delays can be expected
- The closure limits for this weekly period are confined to Mile Point 259 to MP 256
- Speed reduction on westbound I-70 - speeds are reduced to 55 mph through the work zone on westbound I-70 from Morrison (Exit 259) to Lookout Mountain (Exit 256), with signs posted
- Work zone signs, message boards and construction devices will be present alerting motorists to the work zone, lane closures and other restrictions
- Please obey speed limits and traffic signs and exercise caution
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Work includes forming and pouring concrete barrier, and installing and flowfilling concrete drainage pipe.

No Daytime Traffic Impacts
Monday, Feb. 10 to Friday, Feb. 14 - Westbound & Eastbound I-70 - Morrison/CO 93 (Exit 259) to Lookout Mountain (Exit 256) - no impacts
- No shoulder closures are scheduled for this weekly period
- Speeds on westbound I-70 have been reduced to 55 mph within the work zone, from the Morrison to Lookout Mountain exits
- Signs, message boards and construction devices are present to alert motorists to the work zone and other restrictions
- The project limits for this weekly period are MP 259 to MP 256
- Please obey speed limits and traffic signs and exercise caution
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change
Daytime work includes forming concrete barrier in the center median, with no impacts to traffic.

General Travel Impacts, Schedule & Scope of Work
- The project began in mid-August 2024, with anticipated completion by late 2025
- Work will be performed in two shifts: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, except on holidays
- Hours will be modified during the winter months
- The project's purpose is to improve safety, mobility and travel time reliability along this 10-mile stretch of the I-70 mountain corridor
- Work includes milling and paving I-70 from the Chief Hosa to Colfax exits, replacing guardrail, repairing two bridge decks at the Morrison/CO 93 exit, installing storm drainage improvements, and adding variable speed limit signs and message boards on eastbound I-70 from Genesee Park (Exit 254) to Colfax (Exit 262)
- Overnight lane closures with traffic shifts will be taken Sunday to Thursday, except on holidays
- Daytime shoulder closures will be in place
- Occasional weekend overnight lane closures will exist, as needed
- Speed reduction on westbound I-70 - speeds are reduced to 55 mph through the work zone on westbound I-70 from Morrison (Exit 259) to Lookout Mountain (Exit 256), with signs posted

I-70 Floyd Hill Project
- The I-70 Floyd Hill project, from west of Evergreen to eastern Idaho Springs, encompasses an eight mile section of the I-70 Mountain Corridor
- Ongoing impacts include overnight lane closures and shifts, traffic delays, and periodic ramp closures
- Weekday rock scaling and blasting operations will be taking place near Idaho Springs, with traffic holds and delays expected up to six times a day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday, except on holidays
- The project limits extend from Beaver Brook (Exit 248) to Idaho Springs (Exit 241)
