I-25 & CO 7 Interim Transit Improvements
About the Project
The interim transit improvement project is located at the I-25 and CO 7 (Exit 229) interchange. Primary work includes:
- Building Bustang slip ramps for the I-25 northbound off-ramp and I-25 southbound on-ramp
- Building a pedestrian bridge over I-25
Other work includes:
- Adding sidewalks
- Replacing traffic signals
- Building a park-n-ride lot in the southeast corner of the interchange
- Installing the Permanent Water Quality pond to accommodate the future mobility hub project

Work Schedule
- Work is set to begin in mid-March 2025 to August 2026 and will last for approximately 16 months
- Working hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Occasional full ramp closures to and from I-25 at CO 7 (Exit 229) with detour routes posted
- Ramp lane closures to and from I-25 from CO 7 during overnight hours
- Overnight lane closures in both directions of I-25 within the project limits
- Signs and construction devices will be present to alert motorists to lane closures, traffic shifts and other work zone restrictions
