Long-Term Larkspur Ramp Closures

The long-term ramp closures near Larkspur are complete! Watch for overnight closures of these ramps for additional construction activities.

As part of the I-25 South Gap project, three bridges near Larkspur are being rebuilt -- Spruce Mountain Road, Upper Lake Gulch Road and the Plum Creek Bridge spanning over Plum Creek between Spruce Mountain Road and Upper Lake Gulch Road. The Spruce Mountain Road bridge opened to traffic in November 2020.

To maintain safety of the traveling public and construction crews, long-term closures at Upper Lake Gulch Road are required. Access to Larkspur will always be maintained (see detour map below).

  • Southbound I-25 off-ramp to Upper Lake Gulch Road – reopened in November 2022
  • Upper Lake Gulch Road on-ramp to northbound I-25 - reopened in October 2021

To access northbound I-25 from Larkspur, motorists should use the new Spruce Mountain Road Bridge. To access Larkspur from southbound I-25, motorists should use the southbound I-25 off-ramp to Spruce Mountain Road.

During these long-term closures, crews may require overnight closures of the southbound I-25 off-ramp to Spruce Mountain Road. In this case, crews will open the southbound I-25 off-ramp to Upper Lake Gulch Road in a temporary configuration so access to Larkspur is maintained.
