I-25 Gallinas Bridge Rehabilitation

Project Complete!

This two-step Federal Aid Project is designed to rehabilitate the northbound Gallinas Bridge (P-18-BP) to meet current Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) load and safety standards.

The bridge spans the Frontage Road (Exit Road 6) at Exit 6 Gallinas on northbound Interstate I-25 near Raton Pass. It also marks the access point to the Santa Fe Trail Ranch subdivision.

The first step in the rehabilitation process involves pressure-injecting epoxy into cracks to shore up the surface structure. The second step consists of wrapping the longitudinal girders with Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) for shear and flexure strengthening.
