Funding

The total estimated cost for improvements to I-25 South Gap is $350 million. CDOT has pledged $250 million to support this project, with an additional $35 million in financial support from El Paso and Douglas counties, and $65 million in federal grant funds from the U.S. Department of Transportation via its Infrastructure For Rebuilding America — or INFRA — grant program.

In November 2017, El Paso County—with support from numerous municipalities, local governments, chambers of commerce, and economic development groups—submitted an INFRA grant application to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

If the grant application is successful, the U.S. DOT will provide funding to support the I-25 South Gap Project.
