I-70 Glenwood Canyon Emergency Project

Work this Week

May 9, 2022

For the week of May 9th, the Lawrence Construction team is finishing up barrier patching and guardrail repair as well as recreation path repairs with the goal of having the full length of the path open by Memorial Day weekend. Currently, the only section open on the path is Glenwood Springs to the No Name Rest Area. Beginning May 9, the path will be opened from Glenwood Spring to Shoshone Powerplant (Exit 123). The path will continue to be closed east of Shoshone until repairs are complete.

Single-lane closures on Interstate 70 will be in place eastbound in various locations from Mile Point 122.5-130 and westbound from Mile Point 129-127 and Mile Point 125-124.

Motorists should anticipate slower speeds throughout the canyon and an increase in truck traffic. Work is weather dependent and motorists are reminded to drive the posted speeds through the work zone and drive for conditions.
