Federal Boulevard Median Improvements

About the Project:

Crews will be raising the median along Federal Boulevard. There will also be signing and striping improvements associated with the construction of the median as well as asphalt reconstruction.

Work will take place on Federal Boulevard from 92nd Avenue to 105th Avenue (MP 292.98 to 291.37). Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed by winter 2024.


Project Benefits

  • Medians create a physical barrier between opposing traffic lanes, they also restrict turns which helps reduce accidents
  • Medians help to improve safety, reduce traffic congestion, and improve the aesthetics of the roadway

Work Schedule:

  • Work hours will range from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday

Traffic Impacts:

  • Motorists can expect single lane closures
  • Speeds will be reduced to 20 mph through the work zone
  • Traffic fines will be doubled in the work zone
  • Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone, drive with caution, allow extra space between vehicles and give themselves extra travel time
