Eastern Plains Timber Bridge Replacement
About the Project:
Eight timber bridges throughout the region were removed and replaced with concrete bridges or box culverts in 2022 and 2023.
Other project work included:
- Roadway reconstruction or resurfacing
- Shoulder widening
- New guardrail
- Drainage improvements
- Upgraded signage and striping
Phases 1 and 2 are complete. Phase 3 is underway. Finishing work on the CO 61 (Phase 3) bridge will occur in spring 2024.
The schedule for Phase 4 bridge work is yet to be determined.
Work Schedule
General work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Traffic Impacts
CO 61 (MP 3.34) over Surveyor Creek, approximately 3 miles north of US 34, Otis.
Drivers should expect intermittent shoulder closures and one-lane alternating traffic during daylight hours in spring 2024 for finishing work.
