Metro Denver Bridge Deck Safety Project

About the Project:

This project includes installing steel plates to the underside of the bridge decks on five structures in the Denver region. This installation will help prevent falling rumble and emergency bridge repairs.

Project Locations:

• Eastbound and westbound on 60th Avenue in Commerce City
• I-70 Spur (Wagner Street) in Strasburg
• Eastbound I-70 over Clear Creek east of Idaho Springs
• Ligget Road over I-25 in Castle Rock

Work Schedule:

• Project duration will be from April to November 2023
• Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Intermittent nighttime closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• I-70 over Clear Creek at MP 244
• I-70 Spur (Wagner Street) at MP .1
• I-270 westbound over BNSF in Commerce City

Traffic Impacts:

• Daytime single lane closures and shoulder closures weekdays on Wagner Street in Strasburg from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Daytime single lane closures and shoulder closures weekdays in Commerce City on 60th Ave at MP 2 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Weeknight single lane closures and shoulder closures on Liggett Road Bridge over I-25 in Castle Rock at MP 182 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Intermittent nighttime single lane and shoulder closures on EB I-70 near Clear Creek at MP 244 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
