Agency Coordination

  • Project Leadership Team/Technical Team (PLT-TT)
    The PLT-TT was made up of technical experts from multiple disciplines and agencies, including representatives from CDOT, Eagle County, Garfield County, Town of Gypsum, U.S. Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management. The group met four times during the project to focus on moving the decision-making process forward.
  • Natural Resources Issue Task Force (ITF)
    An ITF was formed of regulatory agency staff and met twice to focus on natural resources, including wetlands, water quality, and wildlife.

Public Engagement

Two rounds of public meetings were held, each with a meeting at the Glenwood Springs Community Center and the Gypsum Town Hall. The first were held in July 2022 to introduce the project and gather feedback regarding the potential improvements. The second round was held in March 2023 to present conceptual design options for improvements at each project site and gather public input prior to finalizing the recommendations.

An Issue Task Force made up of property owners and residents was formed and met three times throughout the project to discuss residential needs and provide input to inform decision-making. Meetings were held in August 2022, November 2022, and February 2023.
