About the Project
The purpose of the project is to improve safety, local access efficiency, and mobility along CO 92 in Hotchkiss, Colorado. The project goals are to:
- Resurface the existing pavement
- Add shoulders to both sides of the highway
- Improve drainage infrastructure and ditches
- Implement an interim access control plan to reduce the number of potential conflict points

Project Benefits

Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Motorists should expect delays through the work zone
- There will be one lane alternating traffic during the majority of the project and shoulder closures as needed and periodic traffic stops in order to move equipment
- During inclement weather, project engineers will assess the roadway and work location to make determinations on work continuing depending on safety concerns for workers and commuters
