CO 7 Bike Lane Shoulder Widening

About the Project

Work is set to begin on a widening project to add a bike lane to each side of CO 7 (East Baseline Road) just east of Flagg Drive in Lafayette. Work will be completed on both the eastbound and westbound lanes throughout this half-mile stretch of the road between Mile Points 64.25 and 64.74.

Project Benefits

This project will greatly improve safety for both motorists and bicyclists on the road as a bike lane will create greater distance between the two road users.


Work Schedule

  • Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Single lane closures include:
    • Weekdays: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
    • Weekends: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
  • A barrier will separate the work area from traffic reducing impacts on travel
  • Work such as temporary striping, permanent striping and setting/picking up concrete barriers will create infrequent lane closures at night
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone
