CO 52 Resurfacing from WCR 95 to MCR 5

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation will make improvements to more than six miles of Colorado Highway 52, stretching from Weld County Road 95 to Morgan County Road 5. The project will improve:

  • road surface with a new asphalt layer
  • repair the bridge over Rock Creek
  • upgrade guardrails
  • extend culverts
  • install rumble strips

Drainage improvements and shoulder widening near Weld CR 81 is also a part of the project.

Work Schedule

  • Daytime work hours ranging from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Night and weekend work are possible

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Intermittent lane closures, traffic shifts and alternating traffic
  • Flaggers may be present, be prepared to stop
  • Traffic will be held at intersections and driveways while equipment passes through to ensure product quality and safe operations
  • Temporary rough riding surfaces may be present until paving is finished
  • Speed limit reductions and width restrictions will be in place as needed
  • Watch for vehicles entering and exiting the work zone
