Existing Traffic Incident Data:
- Southbound at CO 119 - nine of the 10 broadside crashes involved westbound vehicles on Fordham Street failing to yield the right-of-way to southbound CO 119 traffic
- Colorado State Patrol indicated that the double lanes on westbound Fordham are problematic - vehicles in the right lane block the sight distance for vehicles in the left lane
Benefits of Proposed Improvements:
- Removing one of the westbound Fordham lanes will improve sight distance for drivers waiting for a gap in southbound CO 119 traffic
- Existing traffic volumes do not necessitate two lanes, removing one will not affect operations at the intersection
- LED flashing stop sign will help to alert drivers approaching the intersection
