Anticipated traffic impacts and construction activities for the week of 8/8/2022 include:

  • Daily lane and shoulder closures, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m to 5 p.m.
  • Intermittent flagging, follow crew instructions
  • Reduced work zone speed limit (45 mph)
  • Reduced lane width (10 feet)
  • Mobilizing equipment to the work zone
  • Placing erosion control devices and construction signs
  • Setting temporary barrier wall
  • Clearing and grading activity
  • All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

About the Project:

The Colorado Department of Transportation and AB Underground will construct safety improvements at the intersection of Colorado Highway 52 and Weld County Road 37. This project will add left-turn lanes on all intersection approaches in addition to a right-turn lane from eastbound CO 52 to southbound WCR 37. New culverts and roadside ditches are part of the project. The work zone will be resurfaced with asphalt, and signing and striping upgrades will enhance safety and visibility.


Work Schedule:

  • General work hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday with occasional extended hours and weekend work
  • The contractor will mobilize equipment and prepare the work zone starting the week of August 1
  • Project completion is anticipated in December 2022
  • Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change

Traffic Impacts:

  • Expect frequent traffic shifts and lane closures with flagger control
  • Adjacent property access will be maintained
  • Temporary rough driving surfaces may be present
  • Work zone speed limit 45 mph
  • Oversize-vehicle width restriction is in place
