US 6/Wolcott West Widening

Project completed

Project Description

In partnership with Eagle County, CDOT is widening shoulders and resurfacing US 6 between Wolcott and Eagle for a five mile stretch from mile marker (MM) 153 to MM 158.

This project is the third phase of the partnership with Eagle County, and two earlier phases of the project have already been completed. One finished in 2009 at a cost of $2.5 million and improved another section of US 6 east of Wolcott from MM 158 to MM 163 (Eagle County supplied $1 million in funding). The other project completed in 2008 for $722,341 and widened and resurfaced a section of US 6 east of Eagle between MM 151 and MM 153.

The total contracted amount for this project is $2.1 million, $1 million of which was provided by Eagle County. The contractor is Elam Construction.
