US 6 Paving Merino to Atwood

About the Project
During the months of April and June, 2020 crews will be milling and paving on US Highway (US) 6 between Merino and Atwood from Mile Point (MP) 391.00 to 398.28. Crews will first mill the roadway surface, then repave, followed by striping the roadway.
This project was contracted to Simon contractors for $3,766,927.
This project will improve safety by:
- replacing worn stretches of asphalt,
- reinforcing asphalt along the roadway,
- and installing rumble strips along the shoulders of the road.

Work Schedule
- Work is expected to be completed by July 2020.
- Regular work hours will be Monday – Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Traffic Impacts
- All motorized vehicles should expect travel impacts throughout the construction of this project.
- Flagging and pilot car will help motorist through the construction zone. Motorists should be aware of lane closures and lane shifts.
- Speed reduction to 40 MPH will be in effect. Motorists are urged to obey speed reductions and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
