US 34 Wray Bridge Replacement
Project Description
This project consists of removing and replacing the bridge over the North Fork of the Republican River, located in Yuma County approximately four miles east of Wray on US 34 near mile marker 254. The existing timber bridge is both functionally obsolete and structurally deficient. It will be replaced with a longer structure supported by a concrete box girder bridge.
Replacement of the bridge will be funded through the Colorado Bridge Enterprise (CBE), a government-owned entity within CDOT. The Colorado General assembly created the statewide Bridge Enterprise via Senate Bill 09-108, also known as FASTER (Funding Advancements for Surface Treatment and Economic Recovery). The purpose of the CBE is to complete designated bridge projects that involve the financing, repair, reconstruction and replacement of bridges designated as structurally deficient or functionally obsolete, and rated “poor” by CDOT. For more information about CBE, visit www.coloradodot.info/programs/BridgeEnterprise.
