About the Project
US 287 is a critical connection for moving freight across the country. Slow moving freight traffic along this two-lane rural highway causes long traffic backups, travel delays for motorists and significant safety concerns for the traveling public.
The project will improve safety and mobility by providing space and opportunities for vehicles to safely pass slower-moving traffic.
CDOT Region 4 was awarded a National Highway Freight Program Grant to construct passing lanes on this segment of highway.
