US 287 & CO 52 Intersection Safety Improvements

Project completed

About the Project

This project will improve the safety and operational efficiency of the US 287/CO 52 intersection.

CO52 will be widened on the north and south sides to accommodate an additional left turn lane and create a 6-foot bicycle lane for both eastbound and westbound traffic.

US 287 will be widened to the east to accommodate an additional left turn lane for both northbound and southbound traffic.

Crews will add capacity at all four corners to improve traffic flow. Traffic signal poles, pedestrian poles and ADA ramps will also be replaced to maintain a pedestrian friendly signalized intersection. Replacement of culverts and ditches is also planned for the project.

Project Benefits:

  • Improved traffic flow with additional lanes and wider shoulders
  • Enhanced safety for all modes of transportation with the addition of traffic signals and a bike path
  • Upgraded accessibility for all pedestrians with the addition of ADA curb ramps
