US 24 Passing Lanes West of Peyton

Project completed

About the Project

Starting in early April and extending into fall 2020, CDOT and contractor partner, Kiewit Infrastructure Company, will construct passing lanes in both directions of US Highway 24 between McKenze Lane (Mile Point 327.1) and Bradshaw Road (MP 328.7). This project involves widening US 24 from two lanes to four lanes to provide approximately one mile of passing zone to improve safety.

A left turn lane will be added on westbound US 24 at Bradshaw Road along with an acceleration lane for motorists heading westbound from Bradshaw Road. The contractor will also reconstruct driveway and intersecting roadway approaches, extend cross culverts, and improve roadside ditches. US 24 will be resurfaced with new asphalt pavement within the project limits.

  • One lane in each direction will be provided throughout most of the project and when workers are not present.
  • All work is weather-dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
