Project completed

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation and contract partner Western Gravel Constructors completed an ADA ramp project on US Highway 160/7th Street, CO 10/5th Street and Interstate 25C/Main Street in Walsenburg in November 2021. Ramps were installed at 23 intersections on US 160/7th St. and CO 10/5th St. starting at Mile Point 304, continuing for two miles to MP 306 on CO 10/5th St. and on I-25C/Main St. from MP 1-2.

Work included the removal of existing ramps and installation of 123 ADA compliant ramps. The new ramps are now in compliance with the Public Right of Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) requirements. Work also consisted of improvements to curb ramps, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.
