US 6 & US 24 Improvements in Minturn

About the Project
American Civil Constructors LLC (ACC) and CDOT will return to Minturn on Monday, June 8, 2020 to complete the US Highway 24 Improvements project, from I-70 through the town of Minturn. Work should be complete by June 21, 2020.
While the major contract items have been completed, ACC will work to close-out the project including marking the crosswalks, installing pedestrian railing, finishing up topsoil, re-vegetation and other punch-list item.
Crews on this highway improvement project will complete the following work on US 24, from I-70 through the Town of Minturn:
- resurfacing four miles of US 24;
- rockfall mitigation;
- upgrading storm sewers;
- adding guardrail;
- adding and improving sidewalks; and
- enhancing concrete curbs and gutters, driveway entrances and accessible infrastructure.
COVID 19
COVID-19 continues to create uncertainty and concern in Colorado and the US. ACC and CDOT have established protocol to limit exposure to employees and the public including the use of PPE, hand washing stations, social distancing, cleaning practices and daily temperature checks. Most important, ACC employees will not report to the job site if they are exhibiting any symptoms or have had direct exposure to a Covid-19 positive patient.
Schedule & Travel Impacts
- While ACC will be on-site from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, weekday traffic control will not begin until after 9 a.m.
- Traffic control may require single lane closures with flaggers directing alternating thru traffic, with potential holds of up to 15 minutes.
- ACC may also shift traffic in certain areas
- The Contractor will notify businesses and residences prior to work directly in front of their property. Work should be complete by June 26.
