US 550 Intersection Improvements at 17th, 22nd & 32nd Streets in Durango

Project Overview
Crews on this project completed the following work:
- replaced signals
- improved the road
- constructed ramps and sidewalks at each intersection that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- improved storm-drain inlets
- added and upgrading pavement markings for bike lanes, bike boxes and stop bars at crosswalks
- added a sidewalk at the small island (the triangle area at the east edge of Fassbinder Park) between 17th Street and West Park Avenue to provide pedestrians refuge at a lengthy crossing
- replaced a span-wire signal at 22nd Street with new signal heads, poles and mast arms
- replaced the traffic signal at 32nd Street
- added and upgraded pavement markings between 32nd Street and East 2nd Avenue to provide two left-turn lanes onto southbound Main Avenue, one shared through/right turn-lane, and a small raised island at the intersection designating a free-flow right turn onto northbound Main Avenue (US 550)
