US 160 Widening Near La Veta

From May through fall 2017, crews on this project will widen and pave US Highway (US) 160 at Colorado Highway (CO) 12, and on the I-25 ramps north of Walsenburg. Other work includes adding a passing lane to US 160, adding signage and striping to the highway, and making improvements to the I-25 on- and off-ramps.

Schedule

Work will be completed from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. In special cases, crews may extend these hours. Weekend work is also possible.

Traffic Impacts

  • Expect lane closures, and lane and shoulder shifts.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph on US 160.
