From August through December 2017, crews removed and replaced outdated traffic signals, and installed new, safer signals at five intersections in Boulder.
The purpose of the project is to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians in those intersections as traffic in the region grows.

Crews worked about 4-6 weeks at each intersection, following the schedule listed below:
- Foothills Parkway (CO 157) and Baseline Road: start date of Aug. 14
- Arapahoe Road (CO 7)and Cherryvale Road: start date of Aug. 14
- Foothills Parkway (CO 157) and Valmont Road: start date of Sept. 4
- Broadway (CO 93) and 27th Way: start date of Nov. 25
- Arapahoe Road (CO 7)and 55th Street: start date of Oct. 23
