Stakeholder Working Group Meeting, May 30, 2013

A Stakeholders Working Group (SWG) Workshop was held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. There were 28 participants from the businesses, local agencies, and the community. After an update on the project status, small groups addressed three topics: the pedestrian bridge structure type, Grand Avenue Bridge architectural and design elements, and the concepts and treatments for the entry into Glenwood Springs from I-70. The group also was introduced to the team of Granite Construction and R.L. Wadsworth, contracted by CDOT as construction consultants during the concept development phase of the project. The Granite/RLW team will help CDOT and the project team brainstorm ideas to minimize construction time and impacts to Glenwood Springs, including accelerated bridge construction techniques.

A copy of the exhibits that were the basis for discussion are provided at the link below. The group’s comments are being incorporated into further refinement and evaluation of alternatives.
